The future of packaging
At Empack Stockholm 2023, packaging trends, new techniques, materials, innovations, packaging solutions and design will be presented. Among leading suppliers and start-ups, we see solutions for the industry’s challenges. On our stages and in conference rooms, we will discuss AI, technology development, end-of-line solutions for trade and 3PL and of course upcoming directives and laws to deal with.
In the packaging industry, the material has an obvious focus, as does the focus on sustainability and circularity. Can packaging be designed from better materials, with smarter design, the total resource consumption will be less. Working for smart use of packaging and packaging materials contributes to reduced climate impact, from the food itself as from the packaging.
But it is not the legislation that will drive innovation in sustainability. It is the value we create with the products and services delivered. Through digitization, new business models, automation and innovation, we can drive the issue of sustainability faster.

What´s new at the meeting place for 2023?
Pentawards
Pentawards is the world’s first and largest packaging competition in luxury packaging. The competition was founded in 2007 and every year packaging from all over the world is judged by an international jury from global and leading brands. Pentawards will have its own area at the fair where you have the opportunity to see the 2023 winners exhibition in luxury packaging. There is also a stage on site where you can listen to many exciting lectures from qualitative speakers relevant to the industry.
INNOVATION GALLERY
Product news, innovations and new services that move the industry forward. One of the focus areas for 2023 is Innovation. Therefore, as a visitor, you will already be greeted by our exhibition Innovation Gallery in the upper entrance. Here, all exhibiting suppliers have the opportunity to expose their most innovative services and products – and you as a visitor can easily get an overview of 2023’s news and innovations.
Talent4Future
Talent4Future is the name of a new competition for young packaging enthusiasts. The competition is aimed at young talents who are under 30 years old, work in the packaging industry and drive the development of sustainable packaging, materials and new technologies.
